FAQs

What is the Frey Foundation?
The Frey Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance educational opportunities for all students by providing programs to maintain excellence in the classroom and to fulfill academic needs that are unable to be covered in county or other organizational budgets.

How much am I asked to donate?
The requested donation is $100 per child; however any donation amount is greatly appreciated.

Where does the money go?
For the 2014-15 school year,

  • Approximately 2/3 of the Frey Foundation budget was used for technology purchases (20 iPads, 25 Laptops and mobile carts for each).
  • The remaining 1/3 of the Frey Foundation budget was used to fund a STEM teacher, STEM Lab supplies, Educational Software.

For more details, click here.

Who decides how the money is spent?
The Frey Foundation seeks input from teachers and administrators to determine the best way to allocate the funds available.  Programs are prioritized by necessity, budget requirement, and the number of students impacted, among other criteria.

Is the Frey Foundation different from the PTSA?
The PTSA and the Frey Foundation have distinct and essential roles in improving the quality of our children’s education.  Each organization works within specific parameters.  By working together, we are able to support teachers and administrators, provide up-to-date technology and supplies, provide enrichment programs, capital improvements, and much, much more!  By supporting these two wonderful organizations, you are truly investing in YOUR child’s education.  Click here for more information.

How can I make my donation?
You can make your donation at Meet and Greet, Open House, or during the annual March STEMtastic fundraising drive.  You can click here to pay online using Paypal, write a check, address the envelope to the Foundation, and send it in with your child, or mail it to

I think my company will match my donation. What is the process?
Many employers will match eligible contributions made by their employees, spouses, or retirees.  Your donation to the Frey Foundation could be doubled or even tripled!  Every program is different, so please contact your company for assistance, or click here for more information.

I gave money last year, so do I need to give again this year?
Yes.  Think of your donation not as a request for money but, rather, as an investment to enhance your child’s educational opportunities at school. The Foundation needs parents to support it every year. We depend on your donations to continue to pay for our STEM teacher and technology for your school. Making the Foundation a part of your annual charitable giving directly benefits your child’s education. Every child at Frey interacts with something provided by the Foundation every single day.

Do I have to be a Frey parent to contribute?
No.  We welcome donations from grandparents, other relatives, alumni, community members, and business owners; anyone can contribute.
