FAQs

What is the Frey Foundation?
Frey Foundation is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization, established in 2009 to provide STEM related resources to promote collaborative, innovative, creative hands-on learning that promote communication and critical thinking skills for students in addition to supporting Frey Elementary’s vision of becoming a STEM Certified school.

Who decides how the money is spent?
The Frey Foundation seeks input from teachers and administrators to determine the best way to allocate the funds available.  Programs are prioritized by necessity, budget requirement, and the number of students impacted, among other criteria.

Is the Frey Foundation different from the PTSA?
The PTSA and the Frey Foundation have distinct and essential roles in improving the quality of our childrens’ education.  Each organization works within specific parameters.  By working together, we are able to support teachers and administrators, provide up-to-date technology and supplies, provide enrichment programs, capital improvements, and much, much more!  By supporting these two wonderful organizations, you are truly investing in YOUR child’s education.

How can I make my donation?

I think my company will match my donation. What is the process?
Many employers will match eligible contributions made by their employees, spouses, or retirees.  Your donation to the Frey Foundation could be doubled or even tripled!  Every program is different, so please contact your company for assistance.

I gave money last year, so do I need to give again this year?
Yes.  Think of your donation as an investment to enhance your child’s educational opportunities at school. The Foundation needs parents to support it every year. We depend on your donations to support the Foundation’s mission.  Making the Foundation a part of your annual charitable giving directly benefits your child’s education.

Do I have to be a Frey parent to contribute?
No.  We welcome donations from family members, alumni, community members, and business owners; anyone can contribute.

How can I get involved?
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that will directly impact your child’s education?  The generous donations from Frey families combined with the efforts of the Frey Foundation board members have had a significant impact on the level of education at Frey.  If you are interested in joining the board or in volunteering on Foundation projects, please email us at freyfdtn@gmail.com.
