Frey Day on a Saturday

Hello Frey Community,

Please join us for the third annual “Frey Day on a Saturday” workday on October 8th from 9:00A.M.-1:00 P.M. Frey is turning 20 this year, and we want our campus to look as good as new. We hope you will come out and show your Frey pride by helping complete many beautification projects around the school. This is a family friendly event, and we would like to have as many volunteers as we did the inaugural year of Frey Day on a Saturday. The projects this year include refreshing the mulch across our lovely campus, cleaning up flower beds, filling raised beds with soil, and clearing the nature trails and many outdoor classroom settings. We would also like to sand and re-stain the picnic tables under the pavilion as well as stain the benches in our amphitheater.

This is a great opportunity to show your students what a true community looks like by serving alongside them, their peers, and the Frey staff to make the world a better place by starting right here at their school. Please click on the link below to look over details and get signed up. Thank you for your continued support of your child’s education and for that of Frey elementary.
“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.”

Goal52STEMtastic Campaign March 2016 was a great success!!
Thank you Frey families for all of your generous donations to the Frey Foundation’s STEMtastic Campaign!  Our total as of May 9th is $48,972.60, of which about $8,000 is corporate matching grants/donations.  We appreciate all the community has done for our students to make this a successful school year.

Baby chicks hatched at Frey!  Second grade teachers, Mrs. Rickeard and Mrs. Scarpinato, did an amazing job hatching 18 chicken eggs as a part of their study on lifecycles.  The Foundation purchased an incubator so the teachers and students could observe and document the egg-citing process in the classroom.

Thanks to Orthozone, Dr. Singleton & Dr. Cronan, for donating all of the science STEM cups each student received as a prize for their $35 donation.  Also, thanks to ONE OF A KIND Marketing and Promotional Products, Carole Cannon, for donating all of the megaphones each student received as a prize for their $100 donation.  Please support the businesses that support our school.

Donations are accepted throughout the year, please feel free to DONATE HERE  or download the form: Frey STEMtastic Donate 2016.

Thank you from our STEM Lab!
From our STEM Lab teacher, Mrs. Allison Johnson: Thank you for all your wonderful donations to the STEM Lab!  I have already put the items to use during your child’s STEM Lab experiences.  Feel free to send in disinfecting wipes (any brand), small baby wipe packages ($1 at Walmart,Kroger), hand sanitizer and basic LEGO building block sets/pieces that need a “retirement home”.  Thank you again!

Where does the Foundation spend the money?
Your generous donations during our March STEMtastic campaign allow the foundation to purchase needed science, technology, engineering and math supplies for your school.  This is above and beyond what Cobb County can provide.  The foundation board is administration, teachers and parents that review and prioritize needs at the school.  Visit the Successes page for purchases that are making a difference for your child.
